A progressive high school gives students a safe haven during their exciting high school years.

High school is one of the most memorable and most challenging periods in any student’s life. This is because students have to cope with many changes physically, mentally, and emotionally. They have to deal with puberty and the many changes it brings – the growth spurts, weight gain, development of body parts, and hormonal changes, among others. Just like in coming of age movies, this is when the glasses and the braces make a debut, as well as the time when students get their first crushes, when they start to get social and make friends (and inevitably, frienemies), and get a dose of a lot of firsts – first night out, first dance, first soireee, first sleepover, and first outing, to name a few. This period is tricky because, apart from it being very exciting what with all the firsts, this is also when a lot of insecurities pop up, and it is very important that these insecurities are kept at bay so that teenagers get to have a healthy dose of self-esteem and a strong sense of identity early on in life.

High school students need all the guidance they can get, because it is during this period that their values and personalities get shaped. They need all the support they can get as well, because it is very difficult for them to go through this period alone, with no one to talk to. Conventional high schools tend to be too strict and too rigid, which can give students a feeling of being stifled. When they feel stifled, they tend to rebel, and that’s how they get in trouble. 

A progressive high school, such as ours, encourages individuality and puts a fun twist to learning so that our students are given the freedom to express themselves and find themselves – all while guiding them towards the path to being well-rounded individuals imbued with positive values.

We do not confine learning within the four corners of our school. We encourage our students to view the world as a big school that can impart them with knowledge. We celebrate every single student’s uniqueness and find ways to make sure they thrive, no matter where they excel in. We highly encourage creativity and use positive reinforcement to build their self-esteem. We give them the confidence to pursue their passions and, in the process, learn more about themselves and the world. Of course, we put reasonable rules in place to make sure that they are disciplined and law-abiding individuals.
